The title.

It took me a while to decide on a title for my blog, and none of my ideas really stuck until this one. I titled my blog "Erasers" for a few reasons. The initial idea for this title came from a quote my mother used to always tell me when I was younger, she would say that "No one is perfect, that's why there are erasers on pencils." Over the years I have found this quote to be more true than I ever could have imagined. We are all human beings and we all have our own unique faults, yet that doesn't make us any less worthy than the next. In my mind, the beauty in life lies in the flaws in all of us. If everyone would begin to embrace those flaws rather than reject or critique them, our world would be much more welcoming. I'm not saying we need to give people all the slack in the world to completely stop striving to better themselves, but simply to lighten up. Nobody is perfect- it's the oldest phrase in the book, that is why we have inventions like erasers to help us remove a mistake and start over with a clean slate. I'm a firm believer in second chances and fresh starts, and I believe that the closest we will ever come to perfection is in fact, in realizing that we will never be perfect.
